Six Unforgettable Things To Do In London This Spring

Posted: 30 March 2018

Is spring the best season of the year for a visit to London? We certainly think so! Bidding farewell to the gloomy winter weather and welcoming warmer days in the sun is one of the highlights of the entire year.

The question being – how can you ensure you make the most of your spring visit to London?

With so much entertainment on offer, even knowing where to start can be a challenge. If you ask us however, there are a few genuinely unmissable things to do in London that are best enjoyed during the spring:

1) Picnics in the Park

For example, there’s really no better time to enjoy a picturesque picnic in one of London’s iconic parks. If looking for a little inspiration, our Vegan and Mediterranean Tapas cooking classes represent the perfect way to learn how to cook picnic food. Plan a romantic alfresco dining experience for two, or bring the whole family along for the ride. Either way, good times are guaranteed!

2) Thames Boat Trips

If it’s something you are yet to experience, take the time to explore the capital from an entirely different vantage point. Book yourself on one of the better Thames River excursions and enjoy a leisurely cruise past some of the most legendary landmarks in the world. Better yet, why not book yourself on an afternoon or evening excursion with a sumptuous lunch or dinner included?

3) City Farms

If you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty, head out to one of London’s fascinating city farms to get up-close-and-personal with a few new ‘friends’.  From Hackney to Vauxhall to Kentish Town to Greenwich, you’re never far from a surprisingly quaint and cultural experience – wherever you happen to be!

4) Beer Gardens

You probably don’t need us to tell you that London is home to some of the most idyllic and enjoyable beer gardens in the world. If looking to soak up the sun in the most picturesque spots possible, consider heading to Hampstead, Notting Hill, Camden or to any of the dozens of incredible pubs lining the banks of the Thames. Try to follow the locals, rather than getting stuck in any overpriced tourist traps.

5) Chelsea Flower Show

The spectacle of the Chelsea Flower Show is something that has to be experienced to be believed. Even if you don’t consider yourself to be much of a horticulturalist, it’s hard not to be blown away by this incredible annual showcase. Set to take place between the 22nd and 26th of May, you’ll need to secure tickets in advance if looking to attend.

6) Covent Garden May Fayre and Puppet Festival

Last but not least, if looking to lap up one of the most quintessentially British events of the entire season, this has to be it. Held every year at the iconic Saint Paul’s church, the event attracts puppeteers and curious onlookers from all over Europe. Colourful, energetic and enjoyable in the extreme, this is the kind of event you’ll find nothing even remotely similar to, anywhere in the world. The best of British in the most enchanting setting imaginable!
