What do all the mum want for Mother’s Day?... Chocolate of course!

Posted: 04 March 2021

What's more thoughtful than hand making a gift to show your mum how much you love her! We've got the perfect gift idea with our easy to make, delicious chocolate truffle recipe - guaranteed to make your mum smile this Mother's Day!

Ingredients:

30g Cocoa Powder

50g Cocoa Butter

50g Date Syrup

25g of Toasted Desiccated Coconut

Pinch of Salt

Method:

1. Put a heatproof bowl on top of a saucepan of boiling water and add the cocoa powder and the cacao butter into the bowl to melt.

2. When it’s pretty much melted, remove and stir to remove any last lumps. Don’t forget about it - if you heat it up too much, the texture won’t be so luxurious.

4. Add a pinch of salt to taste and stir in date syrup - adding it in a slow trickle.

5. Place in the fridge to set or leave to cool at room temperature if you have more time.

6. As the mixture cools, it will start to harden, you want to catch it after about 1 hour when the mixture is hard enough to handle but not too hard.

7. Use a spoon to take out a small piece about the size of a piece of popcorn. Roll it in your hands to make a ball shape. Yes, you will get messy but it’s the fun part!

8. Now you can roll the balls in anything you like - cocoa powder, crushed nuts or even matcha powder – we just love coconut!

Present in a lovely gift box for that extra wow factor and enjoy!
