Hard to believe, but we’re once again counting down to the most glorious two weeks of the year for tennis fans worldwide. That’s right – Wimbledon fortnight is almost here, which means the perfect excuse for one or two indulgences!

This year though, why not step away from the generic and enjoy something a little different? Take a leaf from the book of Wimbledon by all means, but perhaps with your own creativity to spice up the action.

Decadent Desserts

Everyone loves strawberries and cream, but it does get a bit boring after year after year…after year. Wimbledon serves Dutchees – around 60,000 of them every year – which are basically posh hot dogs. Tasty enough, but how about making your own gorgeous British Bangers from scratch? Creative Cocktails

Toast the tennis tournament this year with a cocktail that’s most definitely not your classic Pimm’s. Not that there’s anything wrong with Pimm’s, but still…variety is the spice of life! Our personal favourite this summer being the Lawn Tennis Tonic, which contains a refreshing blend of 50ml Gin, 15ml elderflower cordial, London Essence Classic Tonic, 3 lime wedges and a sprig of fresh mint for garnish…heaven!

God of the Grill

Last up, if you’re planning to put on the usual Wimbledon-fortnight BBQ this year, throw the rule-book completely out of the window. Exotic meats for homemade burgers, Korean-spiced skewers, tandoori chicken, mouth-watering seafood – a far cry from a box of store-bought frozen burgers. Or if you’re feeling really adventurous, why not spatchcock a chicken and grill the whole thing to perfection in one go? If you’re anything like us, your mouth will already be watering at the thought of it!
