Spring into deliciousness with these seasonal ingredients!

Spring is here and it's time to celebrate the season of new beginnings with the freshest and most vibrant ingredients that the UK has to offer! From asparagus to rhubarb, these ingredients are not only delicious but packed with health benefits, so lets dive in!

Asparagus: This versatile vegetable is one of the first to pop up in spring and is packed with vitamins A, C, E, & K. It's a great source of folate (also known as B12) and is believed to help boost the immune system. Try roasting it with a little olive oil and garlic for a delicious side dish or add it to pasta, risottos, or frittatas.

Rhubarb: This tart ingredient is a classic British favourite and is perfect for both sweet and savoury dishes. It's high in fibre and is believed to aid digestion. Rhubarb is great in pies, crumbles, and jams but if you haven't tried it with a savoury dish yet we highly recommend trying it with roast pork or duck. Yum!

Wild garlic: Usually only available from March to May wild garlic has a short season, but if you know of any growing locally to you we suggest you find it! You can use it as a substitute for garlic in any recipe, or add it to pesto, salads, and soups for a burst of flavour. Plus it's high in vitamin C and has antibacterial properties.

Radishes: These peppery vegetables are a great colourful addition to any spring salad. Slice them thinly and add them to sandwiches or tacos for a crunchy texture or try roasting them with a little olive oil for a unique side dish.

Lamb: Spring lamb is a staple of British cuisine and is at its best during the spring months. Roast it with rosemary and garlic for a classic Sunday roast or try grilling it with a herb and spice rub - and if the weathers good you could even get the BBQ out!

These are some of the best ingredients to enjoy in the spring months and we urge you to try them now whilst they're at their best!
